Leg 1 of the Chiang Mai October Golf Fest 2026 has moved to Saturday 31 October at Gassan Khuntan Golf & Resort in Lamphun. It starts with a 12:30 shotgun, and entry is 1,400 baht with green fee, caddie, shirt and awards dinner included. If you land in Chiang Mai in late October, that is a low-cost competitive round worth planning around.
What changed in the October Golf Fest schedule?
The Northern Region Golf Resort Association is running the event. The change was reported on 12 October 2026 by Chiang Mai News. Leg 3 was played on Sunday 11 October at Gassan Panorama Golf Club. Leg 1 was first set for 3 October and has moved to Saturday 31 October at Gassan Khuntan Golf & Resort in Mae Tha, Lamphun.
So the Khuntan round is now the last date on the October calendar, not the first. If you checked the schedule earlier in the month and found no date that matched your trip, look again.
What does 1,400 baht actually get you?
There are two price points:
- 1,400 baht per person sharing a two-seat cart
- 1,600 baht per person with a single-seat cart
Both include the green fee, a caddie, an event shirt, the awards dinner and lucky-draw prizes. Prizes go to Overall Low Gross and to three handicap flights: A (0-12), B (13-24) and C (25-36). Places are limited.
What kind of field should you expect?
The Leg 3 results at Panorama give a fair picture. Overall Low Gross went to a 70. The Flight A winner returned net 68, Flight B net 70 and Flight C net 75. The flights spread from single figures to mid-30s handicaps, so you do not need to be a low handicapper to enjoy the format.
How do you plan the day at Gassan Khuntan?
Khuntan is in Mae Tha district, Lamphun, south of Chiang Mai, so this is a day out rather than a quick round near your hotel. The Gassan Khuntan course page lists the address and contact numbers.
With a 12:30 shotgun, leave Chiang Mai in mid-morning so you can register, warm up and eat before the start. The awards dinner follows the round, so expect to get back to your hotel late in the evening. Book a transfer that waits for you rather than one fixed to a set return time.
Which trip dates fit the 31 October event?
The event is on a Saturday, so it suits travellers arriving between Wednesday 28 and Friday 30 October. Some options:
- Short trip: Weekend Warrior, 3 nights and 3 rounds. Play one round on Friday, Khuntan in the competition on Saturday, and a final round on Sunday.
- Longer stay: Highlands Classic, 5 nights and 4 rounds. Use the event as one of your four rounds and add Chiangmai Highlands and North Hill. Both are association members.
- Price-focused: Northern Value, 4 nights and 3 rounds. Ending a late-October trip with the event gives you one round with dinner already covered.
We can work the event into a package so that the transfer timing and the other rounds fit around the shotgun start. Places in the field are limited and the organisers control them, so tell us early and we will check availability for you.
Which courses belong to the association?
The member list in the report covers Mae Jo, Legacy, Panorama, Khuntan, Highlands, North Hill and Inthanon. That means any of the courses you might pair with this event, such as Gassan Legacy or Mae Jo, sit in the same local golf network.
Should you build a trip around this event?
If you are already flying in late October, yes. It is a low-cost competitive round with green fee, caddie and dinner included. If your dates are fixed for mid-November or later, do not move them just for this event. Fly in as planned and pick courses that suit your game instead. Our golf packages and course directory cover both approaches.
